I’m going to be a hairdresser, so I am going to have to buy my own life insurance. Hairdressing is basically being self employed, and you have to give yourself benefits. Insurance doesn’t cover my hormone therapy or my surgeries, because they don’t recognize my condition, but will I have trouble getting life insurance because I am ***********? And if they don’t recognize being *********** as a medical condition when you are covered, can they really refuse you for having a pre existing condition of transsexuality when you are not covered?
