I own a business (LLC) with two other people. It is only us three; we do not have any additional employees. We pay for our health insurance through our business. Based on these facts, I was wondering how much I stand to save on my personal taxes. Is this a standard write off like any other business expense or does the IRS treat health insurance differently?
My father passed and left a life insurance policy to me (his daughter); I’m using it to pay for his funeral. However, I also owe the IRS a big chunk of the money for the 2006 tax year. Can they take the whole amount or will the funeral home get their portion first and then the IRS? Can the IRS take it all?

Thank you for your prompt responses. I should have added more details so you’ll know what I mean. I was rear-ended on the freeway in Chicago last Spring ‘08. The driver of the other car immediately assumed responsiblity and his (out of state) insurance company issued a check for $3,500 to be released of futher involvement (it was very minor; only bumper damage). On the stub attached to the check the description only reads “Bodily Injury Payment-Auto”…….I was up late completing my taxes and remembered this incident and didn;t want it to haunt me later. I searched the web fir answers (even the IRS) and the answer are the same as yours (basically)………..thanks.
