Life Insurance
I am trying to find the laws regarding whether life insurance policy changes require witness signatures and or notary seals. The situation deals with a death and a mysterious change in the policy.
My daughters father was killed and there is an insurance policy that has my daughters name and her sisters name on it. The comapny called two days after his death and advised that my daughter was a benficiary. They could not issue the payment until the person responsible went to trial. Once the person went to trial, they came back and said that there had been a change made and that my daughter was not a beneficiary. The first policy was witnessed. The change was not witnessed and the district attorney had the hand writing analized but they could not determine if it was a forgery without the original. The original change paper has mysteriously gone missing. The change removes my daughter who is the first born and replaces her with her brother and sister who are the children of the person convicted of killing my daughters father.
