After bankruptcy, it can be very difficult to get approved for a personal loan, nevertheless, there are some lenders willing to lend to people in such financial difficulties as long as they can provide enough security in order to reduce the risk of missed payments and default which is what worries lender’s the most.

There is no need to despair; someone who has gone through a bankruptcy process can easily get approved for a secured personal loan within certain period of time if able to meet certain requirements. Bankruptcy can be very stressful but finance can still be found during these hard times, you just need to know where to find it.

Debt Consolidation
We have recently incurred some really big medical expenses (over 50K) that we didn’t plan and had to put them on our credit cards. We have been and are still capable of making all of the monthly payments. However, some of these credit cards have 29% interest rates and I don’t see how we will ever get them paid off. We just bought a house and tried to refinance and the representative told us that while our credit history is excellent, but we are just too extended to get a traditional loan. We see debt consolidation adds all the time. I would like to hear from someone who has actually done it- how did it affect their credit report and score? Also, what did the credit card companies report once you consolidated? Did they report charge-offs or what?
Debt Consolidation
I have been enrolled in a debt consolidation program for about 3 years and have about one more year to go.

My question is on my credit report for each creditor that I have enrolled in the program it reads “payments managed thru a consumer counseling agency” (something along those lines) how long after I have finished the program will this notation remain on my report? Also how long after the program will I be able to get credit again?

FYI I do not need to know how a debt consolidation program works…as I said I have been in it for 3 yrs

Debt Consolidation
I’m looking into these organizations. I want one that is non-profit and is really going to work for me. Has anyone tried one that they are happy with and how will using one reflect on my credit report?
Debt Consolidation
I have maxed out credit cards and they raised my apr due to a mistake in my payment and it was late, usually i’m on time or early with my payments and always pay the minimal. I’m trying so hard to get out of debt but with my apr raised, i feel like i’m drowning in debt. I have read some info on debt consolidation loans vs. other methods, which is best and what can i do? i probably have really bad credit right now due to the max’d out limits and the “penalty pricing” increase in my apr. I would like to find a way to consolidate debt to lower the rate and possibly lower the payments but i don’t want to get into a situation that will end up leaving more of a scar on my credit report. Can anyone help me out? where do i go from here?

online loans
I took out two loans online two years ago. I never repaid them and that bank account is closed. I can’t remember the name of the companies either. That’s bad I know

Anyway they are not on my credit report, but I want to repay them. What are some ways of finding these companies? Or should i wait from them to find me?

Debt Consolidation
There is only one bad thing in my credit report and that is one student loan that is in default. I took this student loan over 6 years ago. It has been hunting me every since I drop out of College. I have made efforts to pay it, but I have been unemployed for a year now. The last payment I made was a year ago and I just received a letter saying that it is still in default status. I called the collection agency and told them my situation. I am unemployed, currently staying at home with my kid while I take classes online to get my degree. I told her we do not have the money to pay the balance. She wasn’t very helpful. I even told her that I want to make the effort to make payments, but I need a job and I can’t find one at the moment. I told her I will start making payments as soon as I start working.
Anyway, I was wondering if it’s possible to make a debt consolidation with my loan and my husband’s student loan. His student loan is also in default.
Any good info will be appreciated.
Debt Consolidation
Like I am in about $20,000 in debt and I was thinking about consolidating all of it into one monthly payment. If I do decide to do it, I really would like to know how everything will show up on my credit report after everything is said and done.
