Should I call one of those debt consolidation companies and see what they can do for me? How does that work? What will that do to my credit? How long will it be affected for? Will I still be able to use credit cards?

Hi, I have roughly $3,000 in credit card debt. I am thinking of borrowing from a bank that offers a lower interest rate, and then just paying the bank back rather than several credit card providers. Does anyone have any advice, or do you know if it would be better to consolidate debt from a different organization?
i want to consolidate my debt but am concerned with how negatively its affects are on my credit. can i pay on a consolidated debt at a significantly lower interest rate than now(im averaging +20%!)? if so, will that outweigh the side-effects?

I have maxed out credit cards and they raised my apr due to a mistake in my payment and it was late, usually i’m on time or early with my payments and always pay the minimal. I’m trying so hard to get out of debt but with my apr raised, i feel like i’m drowning in debt. I have read some info on debt consolidation loans vs. other methods, which is best and what can i do? i probably have really bad credit right now due to the max’d out limits and the “penalty pricing” increase in my apr. I would like to find a way to consolidate debt to lower the rate and possibly lower the payments but i don’t want to get into a situation that will end up leaving more of a scar on my credit report. Can anyone help me out? where do i go from here?

When you consolidate your debt with companys such as care one etc… does it have any affect on your credit report? if so what affects does it have? Is this a good solution?

I have about $10,000 in debt. I need to consolidate the loan, as my financial situation is now getting stable. It’s not stable enough for me to pay the collection companies a lump sum yet though.
My credit is bad enough to where a personal loan is not likely. I would like to consolidate it so I can have manageable payments and get on with my life and credit rebuilding.
I don’t think I have anyone I know who can cosign for me on a loan either. Any suggestions?
