I am about to get my license and I want to have an approximate cost for my insurance. I am a 16 year old girl and I won’t be the primary driver for any cars and I will probably have a pretty basic plan.
Why cant we have insurance on Auto Repairs. Where we pay a co-pay (like health insurance) or deductible and the auto shops are regulated by the insurance companies. We would pay more for cars that need more repair. Wouldnt it make automakers more interested in making a better car?
I’m 18 and I want to know which areas in NY that aren’t too far from Queens have low auto insurance? Like lower crime rates, less cars, less chance for accident, y’noe things that factor into insurance.
He was on my policy and I was told that it is illegal for me to remove him until the divorce is final. He has tickets and had a suspended license, the cost is killing me and he’s not paying me back for it. I can’t afford to pay HIS car insurance any more. What can I do?
PS – We live in California.
I should add that we both have cars on the policy.
One of my cars was just in an accident. A friend of mine was driving my car and hit someone from behind, basically totaled my car. I own another car of which I have to renew the insurance on. Due to that accident is my insurance premiem going to raise. By the way I live in south florida if that makes a difference.
Basically, Gieco foundout That my son is a driver, and he isnt willing to pay for the 1000 incresment in his part of the insurance, we basically went from 650 on 2 cars for 6 months to 1500. Now he doesnt want to pay for that, because 1500 is basically 1 months check.
I’m only 20 (omg) and Im 11 thousand dollars n debt.. I’ve never had a credit card. I don’t have cell phones n my name, houses, cars, etc.. I really think most of the money came from school.. I have a 2004 Cadillac Escalade that I got in an accident with. The damage is $16,400 and there is $27,000 left on the payoff. I found out my insurance cancelled the month before because my debit card number on file changed, and I was out of town didnt get the notice etc. Doesnt the lienholder automatically put coverage on the car when they receive notice of insurance cancellation and isnt it retroactive to the day of the cancellation? And if so, do they just sell it wholesale as damaged and pay off the lien or is it actual comp and collision insurance and I may get the car back?
To answer some of the questions. Yes I did get a letter that they placed comp and collision on my premium payment. I am not in “default” as someone said, my payments are current and could easily pay off the $27,000 balance thats not a concern. California requires uninsured motorist coverage so the others are covered and they were both parked cars with nobody in them. So no liability. I already gave a check for $7,500 each and got a release. Im not worried about that. Im just curious if I should give the body shop a check tomorrow for $16,400 to fix it or if the comp and collision the lienholder put on will cover it.
