Agents are always extremely keen about selling my family whole life insurance instead of term. According to the agents, whole life is preferable to term since it does not expire and as a result the beneficiary is guaranteed some payment upon the death of the insured. However, why would the insurance company profit from such a setup if they are bound to pay back an amount that is at least equal to the total amount paid?

I have tried to do some research on my own, but I still can’t seem to fully understand this matter. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Can the beneficiary of a life insurance policy be forced to pay for a funeral? Also – what if the beneficiary is a 10-year old boy..?
Thanks for anyone having info ….

I am the beneficiary of a life insurance policy purchased by my fiance who passed away in a car wreck recently. Two policies were purchased by her naming me as the beneficiary but the agent is telling me they can’t be processed until an executor or heir signs a Hipaa release and if no one will then the claim cannot be processed. This does not seem fair or correct. Can anyone tell me what to do?

My friend’s father died recently. Twenty years ago, her father took out a small life insurance policy to pay for his funeral expenses. The beneficiary is my friend’s stepmother. The stepmother doesn’t even recall a life insurance policy. She wonders if he had cashed it out. How can my friend find out if a life insurance policy still exists? Those unclaimed fund sites don’t usually include life insurance policies, and the life insurance company may not know that a death has occurred.

Is it true that when you have life insurance and pass away that your debts get paid first out of that policy? How does the people that you owe money to know you even had life insurance?
So what do you mean Estate as the beneficiary? Does that mean if you don’t have any family?

My parents took out a life insurance policy on me when I was a child. I am now married and would like to transfer it into my name with my wife as the beneficiary. Is this possible?

My ex and I were never married when we had our son so I am worried that if something were to happen to him, I would be stuck with just social security and I feel that is not enough to help our son with the needs in his life such as college, a house and other expenses. I have a policy on myself and our son is the beneficiary if something were to happen to me but his dad is very irresponsible and inmature so he doesn’t have anything like this for him. So being that I am the more mature one, I want to take out a life insurance policy on my ex (which I would pay for) but I don’t know how to tell him. I already know that I have to get his permission and have him sign all the documents in order to get a policy on him. I also know he is not going to be understanding so how would I introduce this to him to let him know it is for the benefit of our child?

If a person has a life insurance policy and names a beneficiary but doesn’t let the beneficiary know that they were the beneficiary and the person who had the policy dies how can they find out if there was any type of policy out there if they don’t know. Is there someway to check. I mean there could be thousands of companies out there.thankyou
