I applied for an Amazon Rewards Credit card, not approved immediately.how long will this take?

I wanted a credit card, and to get 30 bucks off my purchase, (This is my first credit card, I’m 19) so I applied for an Amazon Rewards card. They told me they couldn’t tell me whether I was approved yet. If I filled it out this morning, how long will it take for me to be approved/be able go make my purchase on amazon with this credit card?

Are you supposed to report credit card rewards as other income on your taxes?

For example, Citibank has a credit card called “Citi Dividend Platinum Select”. You get 1% cashback on all your purchases. Are you legally supposed to report the rewards you get back from this as income on your 1040? Even if it’s a small amount such as about $200?

What are the pros and cons of a rewards credit card?

I always see cards that get miles, money for disney, whatever…and wonder if they are worth it. Some people are all for rewards cards…others swear they are not worth it, rates are too high etc.
Which really is better, and under what circumstances/spending habits? I am the kind who only uses a card when I NEED to, and in fact will only be getting one because I need a new laptop. What do you think?

I know that credit cards arent good, and as I said I only use them for emergencies. A lap top is a necessity for me, to both study and work, and I was expecting a few more months out of it to save up. As is, dying right before my sons birthday and christmas, to pay with cash I would either be broke for getting the one I need to do what I do, get another sub-par laptop and spend a good half of my day yelling at it and thus becoming less productive, or I need to get a card so I can make only small payments until I get through the holidays, after which I would pay as much extra as I had until I was done.

Can you sacrifice credit card reward points to pay down debt or negotiate with credit card companies?

I’m just curious because I have a ton of reward points I’ve never cashed and would rather pay off my debt. I was wondering if I can cash those in for a percentage of my debt. It may be a stupid question, but it’s worth a shot! Thanks!

I am not selling the gift card or air miles. The points earned from my business card is automatically transferred to my personal account. I call them and redeem the points for store gift cards and travel stuff.

Reward credit card: specific airline frequent flyer miles or generic travel?

I want to sign up for a reward credit card to get frequent flyer miles as a reward. Is it better to sign up for a credit card with a specific airline as the reward (AAdvantage), or one with generic travel rewards? BofA has a “WorldPoints” card that seems promising, but I don’t understand exactly how those points convert to miles.

Any help would be great.

Who comes up with all those credit card ‘reward’ rules?

Why can’t businesses focus on making things simpler? There are too many options for everything, requiring us consumers to become experts on all sorts of subjects to understand what we are getting into.
